I have a pir floodlight for the driveway but want to add another 1 or 2 outdoor lights on the front of the garage.
I'd like these to be remote controlled so i can switch them on when i get to the top of the drive in the dark and also when i leave the house in the morning.
I've found what i think is the ideal solution - https://www.amazon.co.uk/DONJON-Hou...+control+outdoor+lights&qid=1610480258&sr=8-9 and want installation to be simple (so i can fit them)
I was thinking to connect 2 led lights into the same plug then leave the plug in the mains outlet inside garage with switch left in the ON position with this receiver inline

Is it that simple?

Yes, it's just a switch.

However,

you connect the lights to the device; not plug them in.

Yes - wire lights into this receiver then 2 wires from receiver into a plug which will be left plugged into a wall socket in garage switched on for constant power

I used a wifi socket, it has 3 built in timers, plus IFTTT, and can be controlled by phone, in the main set to simple time, and if I do get home late can manually switch on, or off. As it has a timer, should I forget to switch off, it will auto switch off at next timed change.

I did not buy to work outside light, they were bought to work extruder alarm with my mother, I wanted both timed and manual control and the remotes x 3 plus internet, plus time worked well for turning off alarm when carers due to visit. But first unit a bit expensive as also needed hub, but same hub also worked 21 other things. TVR, bedroom light switches, etc.

I used Energenie MiHome although I would not say that is best system, I have had a few issues with cross device interference. But wife has got into the habit of using voice commands, she talks to Nest Mini's more than me.
