Hi there,
Am hoping someone can help me
I've just bought a table saw and it's performing brilliantly apart from one issue. The sawdust bag seems to be collecting the tiniest amount of sawdust, the rest is all.over my garage - and covering everything else. Ive checked the connections to and from the pipe that takes the sawdust away from the machine and to the bag and that seems fine.
I use the saw everyday for work and its beconing a big messy problem each time.
Can someone help please?

I have the same problem with the same saw. I built a sloped container that fits under the saw body with a hole in the center. The idea was that the sawdust would slide down the slope to the hole where I have a pipe connected that goes to my dust collection system. Unfortunately the slope isn't quite enough to allow the dust to slide down and I cannot make the gradient any steeper as then I would not be able to fold the saw up which is essential for me. I don't get as much dust around the place now as I did before but I have to clean the sloped container out after every usage. As I tend to cut large pieces of wood that will not fit under the blade guard I have removed that, yeah yeah I know safety first and all that. anyway because that is not there I cannot put a collection hose above the blade consequently a lot of airborn dust is spread around the area. When I get some time I'm going to try to design something that will hold the sloped container so that it will be removable. Not sure how yet but time will tell. The biggest problem I think is that this saw is designed as a site saw where dust problems are not such an issue.

With any table saw, dust is a real issue and with my experience the only way to get somewhere is to connect a vacuum cleaner to the dust port.
I use a Henry, and I see Tesco are selling them for £90 right now, but of course there are cheaper buys - albeit usually more noisy!
John :)

So it's a common problem then Pete? Will have to see what i can do myself then to rectify. I thought it was too good to be true

Thanks Burnerman. So you connect the vacuum hose to the port where the dust bag goes? Am assuming you then have to keep the vacuum running whilst sawing?

Yep, that’s the idea - the vacuum also helps to prevent dust spray out of the blade area and it’s very effective.
The trade off is even more noise, but the Henry is a quiet machine and doesn’t complain when the
bag is nearly full.
Replacement bags are cheap too - much more so than machines that use a paper canister filter.
If the hose connections don’t mate up, duct tape works well.
John :)

I took the bag out of my workshop Henrietta as it was a pain to try and empty them or ridiculously expensive because they filled up so quick when using different machines.
Now I have a Festool Midi with bags, but I bought ones with a zip that you can re-use numerous times. Works just as well as the OEM ones but much cheaper.

You can get some canister vacs with a take-off socket for your power tool. When you start the tool, the vac detects it (some kind of electronic switch) and turns on the suction.

They cost a bit extra, but only a small proportion of the price.

Another handy tip is that there are people selling replacement vac hoses, I suppose they buy a hundred-metre reel of it and cut to size, and you can get an extra-long one made up. Cost is quite modest. This enables you to have the noisy vac further from the spot you are working. The same people sell hose size adaptors, sets of replacement vac tools and brushes, usually very cheap.

Yikes, so I need to hunt these bits down and try to connect to saw. Thanks for all of your help

Edit

my son-in-law has the same table saw and a mitre saw and a machine mart vacuum. before then in 2019 we used my mitre saw to cut a whole ground floor laminate flooring and the vacuum did an excellent job of keeping the DUST down. It was brilliant that it turned on/off with the Tool

he has a Machine Mart (on offer) canister Wet & Dry vacuum which turns on with the Tool and then after a delay turns off when you switch the tool off. Brilliant bit of kit
Much better then my OLD Henry I use, which is adequate - BUT to be honest i dont bother to turn on for the ODD cut, whereas the vacuum with a power port i would probably leave connected , while the machine was setup

I think this is the one he has

Maybe a larger version, BUT its only for DIY

I bought a Parkside Wet/Dry Vac a while back that does this (start/stop automatically) and cost something like 40 quid. It was bought already thinking about my workshop ;) I have it plugged to my Evolution mitre saw.
