You have achieved

I only worked for the money.
Who ever paid me more for the same job would get me.
Then when I got home I had my hobbies, one of them being carpentry and joinery which is what I was doing for a living.
Weird I didn't enjoy paid work as much as doing the same thing unpaid.
Is it true Johnny that you have so much money you had to build an extension to keep it in

Not true, a nigerian prince sent me 25 million dollars after i paid for transport.
I invested it and built an underground bunker of 200 square metre by 3 metre height to keep it in.
The ******* sent it all in 1 dollar bills on pallets.

Many, many years ago, my favourite business mentor explained to me that success has to be measured in more ways than just £money.

He had literally 1000's of 'profit centre' locations & whenever he visited one he would always look for how many holiday postcards were pinned up on the noticeboards.

I think a lot of people go through life with money being the prime objective of working so you can provide for your family.
Towards the end of your career, (or working life if you prefer), some of us are lucky enough to find a job that, whilst paying less, sometimes substantially, than our previous jobs we feel more content in what we are doing. I am one of those people. Worked in engineering of one branch or another for over 40 years and provided well for my family only to see most of my efforts distributed, (unfairly in my opinion), to another person. I am now in a job where the pay is about 1/3 less than my last 'full time' job but my contentment has soared massively. I am more relaxed and happy that I have time for other things that I wish to do at my leisure rather than as a chore. Things like gardening, pottering in my shed or simply sitting at the table doing a jigsaw with my wife on a cold winter evening.
