Actually as children we would often see Gerry & Freddie Marsden, (Gerry & the Pacemakers), in our house. Our parents were good friends of his parents and they use to come with them to our house if they were shopping on the local main road. As they became teenagers one or the other would come knocking on our door and shouting, "Is our Freddie/Gerry in there aunty Ivy?" Kids in the street thought we were related because they called my mum and dad aunty and uncle.:LOL:

Did one night chauffeur hiring for awhile when I lived in Berkshire so met many. Liked some and disliked others whether sober or drunk.

I didn't actually meet him, bit I did see Dangee once. I took a photo and got some royalties for it.

Have you ever encountered a well known, famous person or otherwise noteworthy individual during the course of your job? Examples could be Weatherperson, newsreader, actor/actress, politician, DJ, well known business person, military commander, inventor, advert actor, singer, TV minor celebrity etc
I was involved in a Turner Prize project back in the 90's on behalf of Atelier One who were doing the engineering for Racheal Whitereads' 'House'. We were invited to the after party and there were a number of celebrities there.

Not work but I had famous and infamous mates in my class when I went to South West Ham Tech. Alan Curbishley, former West Ham player and later manager. His big brother, Bill, was (and I think still is) manager of the Who at the time and he used to get us all demo discs from EMI. Bill was a bit of a lad and he actually paid for one of the Kray brothers funeral as well as carried the coffin. The infamous one was Tony Tucker, one of the Essex boys gunned down in the Range Rover killing. He was a nutter from the day he started and got expelled in the second year.

Sort of work related, I saw this lady when I was on my way back to my garage after doing a mobile job. She was visiting a local special needs school. Must have been around 1986-88 ish. 2 minutes from my house so I rushed home, got my camera and shot a whole roll of film. I even managed to shake her hand. I must have had the dirtiest hand she has ever shaken!

Now Mottie has widened the topic to Any time any place anywhere:

I was in a sports shop early on a Saturday morning. I was buying a Chelsea Shirt for my Bon Bon she was about 2 years old. While waiting for the name printing I went up to the only other shopper on the first floor. David Beckham was on his Blackberry texting. Im not star struck I would have regretted if I hadn't.

With Bon Bons in my arms I waited for him to get off his Blackberry. He looked at me and I handed him Bon Bons and said hold her will ya.

Brilliant he was I told him why I was there and he said if he knew I supported Chelsea he wouldn't have done it.....

I shook his hand and told him he was a good man. Now I think this went to his head. As next day just down the road he stopped to help a man who had broken down on a roundabout.... I also Told him to get rid of that old Hag.... Don't think he listened to that :ROFLMAO: (Laughing head is indicating that Im only Joking about the Hag. Just in case Bobby is reading)

Thats it get this innocent thread closed.......

Obviously our senses of humour couldn't be more different.
I thought my cartoon post was a joke. Clearly you didn't and thought I was trying to get the thread closed. Why would I want to close a perfectly innocent thread?

I didn't find your anecdote in the least bit funny. But evidently you thought it was.
