I noticed a leak from the pan connector on my close-coupled WC. My first instinct was to get out the silicone gun and run a bead round the join. This worked for a couple of weeks, but now the drip has returned. My fault for attempting a bodge job.
So I now need to remove and replace the pan connector. It is an elbow push-fit type.
- Do I need to move the WC to do this, or can I cut off the existing pan connector with an hack saw?

- Also, the angle between WC outlet and soil pipe is not exactly 90 degrees. Should I be looking for a flexible connector, with a jubilee clip, rather than a typical 90 degree elbow conector?

Are you sure the leak isnt from above and dripping down. Dry tissue paper dabbed around joints shows leaks.

It can depend, I’ve managed to sprise out and renew a pan connector in situ.

No. I can feel it coming out at the bottom of the joint with the pan connector.
