Honda 476 x replace fuel tap ?

The tap on my machine is very hard to turn on/off.

Have Honda replacement, how do I get to the one cross head screw to remove tap.

Have tried right angle screwdriver but this proved no good.

Everything is assembled to the engine before its bolted onto the deck.....can’t you get at the screw head at all?
It is a philips screw, not a pozidriv though so the correct driver is needed - support the back of the tap if you can.

The screw is at the back of the tap, I am unable to get a straight line with the screwdriver !

You can buy various screwdrivers with a right angle close to the tip, or if you have a cheap one and a vice - you might be able to bend the shaft to a right angle.

If you have a small socket set and some phillips bits, that might work.

Tried a right angle screwdriver unable to move it, have given it a spray of WD will leave it to soak and try one of your suggestions, thanks

Is access any better if you remove the red fan cover.....3 x 10mm nuts?
These screws are tight, you need to get some good pressure on it.

Is there anything that may be lose or something that will come away if this cover is lifted off ??

No, you can't go wrong there - the recoil unit comes away, just watch for the three spacers that lurk in the plastic below!
The rest can be lifted clear complete with the fuel tank - no need to disconnect, just move it out of the way.

Manager to undo the screw with a flexi shaft screwdriver.

But then got stuck with the two clips front and back holding the fuel line, not get them to move, giving up for the moment, I was using circlip pliers, what a job just to replace tap.

Did you just push the pipe onto tap ends ??

Yep, and that's where they stay!
My reasoning.....those wire circlips don't compress enough to slide off the rubber pipe - which expands slightly after its pushed onto the tap and I end up pulling them off, more often than not as they deform so much.
Maybe that sounds a bit cavalier, but its fine on these - however I have an arsenal of kosher tiny screw clips that I call on if needed.

Its what I do, and put a small cable tie on if loose

I find jubilee clips useless on smaller diameter pipes, they tend to bunch the pipe up and cause more leaks than they solve. Instead I use a tool I made myself as a copy of a semi- commercial item. It uses pieces of iron wire doubled up to form a loop around the pipe, the gadget then pushes on the looped end, whilst pulling on the two open ends to tighten it, before folding it over to lock it in place.

A similar idea to this -

I use the galvanised wire from armoured cable armouring.
