Hi can I run an outside carriage type with pir at my door off the lighting circuit?
Thanks
Thanks
Got the ceiling opened at the old rose as I was dropping a neutral to the switch for a smart relay anyway and just thought to ask if it was possible. So 1mm or 1.5mm dropped down ?Need to locate the permanent live and take a fees from it.
Thanks so a double pole isolator switched fuse spur be okay ?yes but it is advisable to put a double pole isolator in the supply to the lamp.
Then if ( when ) the lamp develops a fault that trips MCB and / or RCD the lamp can be isolated and then the lights in the house will be useable ( after the MCB / RCD has been reset ).
so a double pole isolator switched fuse spur be okay
Okay probably a dumb question I have L&N at a light switch next to the door that I just dropped a 1mm 3&e to, can I just come off this and fit a dp switch like this https://www.electricalcounter.co.uk/products/Switches+&+Sockets/Click+Scolmore/GridPro+Range/Modules/White+Insert/Brushed+Stainless+Finish/White+&+Brushed+Stainless+GridPro+Double+Pole+Switch+Module/1928732748.To match existing switches or would you drop a new supply from the old ceiling rose
Many thanks let’s me know, I was ready to drop another supply down and then had a moment to think that I had already dropped one down so will just get a 3 gang faceplate and fit the modules in it.You can use that switch fed with your L+N at your existing switch. You may need a separate enclosure and faceplate for your new switch.
