Hello
I had an unvented cylinder installed by a G3 qualified engineer. In the time from installing it to registering he passed away so now I'm stuck with an unvented cylinder that's unregistered.

Can anyone advise how I can proceed please?

I would not worry too much . Nobody is going to ask for your registration papers, as long as your plumber has done a good job enjoy the benefits of a pressurised water system.

Thankyou

I must say its a great bit of kit, I just thought I should get paperwork in order.

Should I have it serviced every year?

As far as I can recall, my installer fitted it then self-registered it with my local building control department. If he hadn’t have done that, I think I would have had to pay to get them round to certificate it.

That is probably my only option if I want to ensure registration now. Other than a safety certificate from a yearly service I guess.

If he was a member of a Competent person Scheme, I imagine the scheme operators will encounter this often enough to know what to do.

Yes you need to get it serviced annually, if you want you can call the manu, their number will be on the cylinder and give them the serial no, they will log it on their system for you

Only time it may cause an issue is when selling the house, everything that needs to be notified should have paperwork to cover it, unvented cylinders fall into that category.
