Good News on Vaccines and Delta Variant

There is a surprising number of healthcare workers (both NHS and private) whom refuse to get the jab,

Isn't that rather telling. Who knows the potential risks of a rapidly developed vaccine using new techniques without knowlege of long term effects better than those at the sharp end?

Why do the people have to respect the decisions of the people who choose to get the Jab but the decisions of people who choose to not have it are met with abuse.

You will note who are the ones doing that and whose opinions must not be challenged and draw your own conclusions.

So why are those nhs and private healthcare workers who refuse to get the jabs not abused like the people on here.

Plus I have had vaccines in my life so how I can be called an anti-Vaxxer is beyond me .

They may well do, but they aren't on this site so we wouldn't know...

Well maybe, a girl I used to go to school with works in a private old people's home, happy to give the vaccine to the old folks, but refuses to get herself jabbed. She also refused to allow her kids to have the MMR jab due to what was published by the Lancet, which has since been retracted because of false result and unethical practices.

The people on the front line aren't always in the know or that knowledgeable.

At the end of the day though it's her choice.

It is not possible to determine long-term effects of the vaccine in the short-term.
True, but you can make an educated guess. What is indisputable in the short term though is that with 50,000 infections a day, we’re only getting around fifty deaths a day compared to around a thousand a day like we were the last time the infection rate was that high. That can only be down to the number of people that have been vaccinated.

We must obey, We must obey .

Unfortunately it does seem that way, ****ter and the ****terati (or those of similar Ilk, you know who I'm on about ;)) believe that just because they say so everyone else has to follow.

I am having the jab as I can't see an issue with it and feel it's the right thing to do. But that's my decision.

If others don't want to then so be it. I don't believe the point some make that because you aren't having the jab your killing yours or someone else's parents, as even jabbed people still carry and spread the virus

Firstly, I don't believe it's as black and white as that, there is many factors to consider, and we now need to factor in the vaccine and the positive effect it is having.
Well maybe we should have factored it in for longer, and waited for a greater positive effect.

There will be a point where we will just have to open it up and go with it, as awful and brutal as this may sound.
Have you thought about how many people you are awfully and brutally prepared to see die?

We should at the very least continue with masks, social distancing where possible and hand sanitation as we are currently doing.
But were not - they are all becoming optional. But that doesnt appear to bother you - you hope
they now just let the virus run regardless
.

Secondly, there is more than covid in the news that's doom and gloomy. We've had over a year of doom and gloom now it's rather depressive.
Oh boo hoo - poor you. I can imagine you, rewound a few generations, being asked "What did you do in the war, grandad?" and replying "Well, after about a year I said we should surrender, as it was just so depressing to keep reading all the doom and gloom in the papers."

Thirdly, the IF , no one has confirmed or not whether we will, so it stands firmly as an IF at present, unless you have a crystal ball and know different?
No, I dont.

I also dont know if youre a betting man, but I strongly advise you dont have a punt on there not being another lockdown.

Now to your last point, what you have replied with is completely nothing to do with what I said in anyway shape or form. I said it was excellent news the vaccines are effective, I never made any statement that could be interpreted as saying what we are doing is good.
Youre hoping they now just let the virus run regardless - are you now saying that you dont think that what you are hoping for is good?

I’m still waiting for you to show me and provide proof of where i lied and been libellous?
You asked me what gives me the right to behave a certain way ( I’m not abusing people)and yet here you are abusing people.
Hypocrisy

As stated by medical experts there is a 1% risk or lower from dying from Covid

Medical experts, or tabloid reporters that don't understand how age affects mortality rates?

"For every 1,000 people in their mid-seventies or older who are infected, around 116 will die. "
https://www.nature.com/articles/d41586-020-02483-2

That's 11.6%. That's more than 10 times higher death rate.

Yes, young, fit, healthy people do not die in any great numbers. But we cannot ignore the fact that it kills more than one in 10 elderly people.
There's around 4.5 million people in this age category, which means 450,000 lives are at risk. We've killed 129,000 already. Let's try not to kill 300,000 more.

Are you stating that a medical expert doesn’t understand how age affects mortality rates?
Wow .
That is a very bold claim
Plus I think it’s common knowledge that tabloid reporters don’t understand much but many many people hang off their every word.

Your literally talking drivel now, none of what you are saying makes any sense, you appear to be trying to create an issue with what I have said for very little reason, I couldn't have been more neutral in what I posted, but somehow you've decided to attempt to pick on me once again, suggest you stop.

I'm not a conspiracy theorist and know full well that the virus is out there, but there does need to be a point at which we have to just put up with it as we do the flue, the flue killed 10-20k people a year, mostly the elderly, I don't see any body up in the air about these death's, they were potentially avoidable. Are we saying flu deaths are less important than covid deaths?

Even double jabbers are dying so it's not the be all and end all to the virus.

There are many thousands of people affected as an indirect consequence of covid, many people suffering mental health issues, many with disabilities have been seriously affected, many cancer patients have had postponements, others have gone un diagnosed due to not being able to go to he doctors or the hospital or even just being so afraid of being a burden they have "put up" with their symptoms.

Many have lost their jobs and livelihoods, many have lost homes because of being unable to work,

In all areas of life there is a sacrifice of some description, everyone's decisions sacrifices something else in one way or another.

It's impossible to put a figure of acceptability, but we have to accept that there will be deaths and it is an unfortunate inevitability

The situation is much bigger than people just dying of covid.

Open your eyes and your mind.

I won't be replying to any more of your posts on this thread.

It is not possible to determine long-term effects of the vaccine in the short-term. No argument. End of.

How long is "long term". mRNA is one most quoted as brand new but it has been used in medicine since 2017 with work starting on it decades ago. Moderna is a manufacturer who were formed in 2010 and their name actually comes from modified rna.

How long are you going to wait?
