Fuel cap

Bodd

I can't open my fuel cap on my van.

I didn't find out until I got to the pump last night.....

That's a lie it did happen last time I filled up but I managed to get it open so I don't think it's a central locking fault.

Some vehicles the key needs to be in the ignition to open the cap.

WD40 with the tube on sprayed into the lock and lots patience trying to turn it with the key worked for me with a seized up filler cap.

It's done now looking for a replacement. No doubt there will be a shortage of fuel caps

It's not water you want, it's a blowlamp.
That would get it off in a flash.

I'd have thought the serious question thing to do would be to post the question in the forums where van users lurk, or CARS, and say what blimmin vehicle it is.

More boringly you could drill it and get the lock to turn, or use a slide hammer with a screw to get the barrel out. If you turn it by force it you may wreck the neck on the tank inlet.
