Dominic Cummings says UK always intended to ditch NI protocol

I’m sorry but that is pure Brexit propaganda, which I’m sure you know

There’s only one UK original trade deal and that’s the Australian deal, which is a very small deal, it’s basically symbolic.

all the others are EU continuity deals, ie exactly the same as had as members.
My point was to counter ‘ellals’ argument that no one wanted to trade with the uk. The containers are piling up because lorries aren’t shifting them, agreed, but the containers are here because other countries have used the containers to ship the goods they’ve sold us. Whether the trade deals are just rolled over versions of what we had with the eu is irrelevant. Other countries do want to trade with us.

And form strategic defence alliances, invest in the UK, use our world leading financial services, the list goes on, much to the dismay of a few on here.

I think the Irish PM is just trying to find reasons to make a noise and get heard. Ultimately I think the U.K. an EU will come up with something better. Quoting Cummings is fairly desperate when looking for a source. The Irish PM thought his country would replace the U.K. as the English speaking EU hub. Tbh I thought they’d do better, so far however there seem to be more services repatriated to the U.K. than to Ireland .

Like moths to light, it's delightful to see how Cummings stock has fallen. His defenders are now his detractors.

He is a scum but now that he isn't in your good books you are piling in. Hypocrisy but hey for shameless people thats minor.

No one voted for lower standards and we haven't lowered standards. We voted to have the choice to diverge from European standards. This argument is long done and dusted

the true purpose of Brexit was deregulation, profiteering from chaos and privatisation of healthcare, pandering to fossil fuel interests.

Trade Bill: UK Government votes to allow food imports with lower environmental standards
20 January 2021, source edie newsroom

The UK Government is being accused of backtracking on non-regression pledges around post-Brexit food standards, after MPs voted against amendments to the trade bill this week

Exclusive: Ministers bowed to pressure to drop key climate commitments for UK trade deal with Australia

No 10 fails to guarantee keeping ban on hormone-injected beef in Australia trade deal

In January, for instance, Greenpeace UK launched a petition containing this:

“Bee-killing neonicotinoids have been banned across Europe since 2013, but the UK government has just approved these deadly chemicals

Soon afterwards, Big Four accounting firms appeared to be delighted about plans to opt out of certain EU transparency rules about abusive tax arrangements. There has been talk of loosening stock market listing regulations. We hear that the UK is relaxing regulations on ‘dark pools’ – profitable trading platforms for investors, away from scrutiny, and potentially cutting back on various other finance-related rules and regulations. The government has announced plans for “freeports” (or “sleazeports,” hat tip) which have a record around the world for hothousing criminality and abuse and failing to boost even local economic growth. The UK is stepping outsidean EU ban on exports of potentially toxic plastic waste to lower-income countries. Fears are rising that the UK may position itself as a “data haven” of lax standards, to attract predatory data-hungry businesses. The Penrose Report, an official review of UK competition policy released in mid-February, looks like another deregulatory push in a “power to the people” packaging. Forces are now pushing hard for a new super-regulator to ensure that UK finance regulators are more “supportive” of the City of London

EU dubbed 'insufficient' as report finds UK ONLY G20 member 'in line' with climate targets
THE EUROPEAN UNION (EU) has been shamed in an annual climate change report that found its actions have been "insufficient," while the UK remains "the only G20 member with a domestic target that aligns with a 1.5C modelled domestic pathway in 2030″.

Filly desperately trying to find an obscure league or chart that shows post Brexit Britain in good light or the EU as bad.

Laughable tory-bot trash. Stop reading those rags, they do you no good. Why is it that those rags are still obsessed with the EU?

Your favourite country, France has over 70% nuclear, so it’s ahead of UK.

The UK isn’t using much fossil fuel….there aren’t any HGV drivers on the roads.
