32 Amp Cooker, 30 Amp Rcd

4mm² is rated roughly 25 to 35A depending on installation method, it may not be fully rated for a 30A trip if it's buried in the wall.

Can you get to the cable anywhere to safely measure?

The generally listed dimensions for 4mm² is 11.9mm x 6.25mm and 6mm² is13.5mm x 7mm.

Ok. The RCD is 30mA - milliamps - for the safety part and 80A for its current carrying capacity so no problem there regarding any cooker.

It is indeed a 30A MCB - type 2 so no problem there - assuming it was alright before.

Can't see any cable but even if it is 4mm² - that would be most unusual - it is still satisfactory.

The generally listed dimensions for 4mm² is 11.9mm x 6.25mm and 6mm² is13.5mm x 7mm but different manufacturers vary and the size tends to have reduced over the years so it is only for guidance and very far from foolproof.

He basically took the front of the plastic bit of the fuse box and measured the wire coming out of the cooker circuit, seemed a bit of a crude way of measuring.

The cable shouldent pass through insulation but i cant be 100% on that.

Someone said about the electric showers, how come thats an issue? I only ever use 1 of the electric showers anyway the other one never gets used, and to be honest the 1 i do use is very rare.
