Shell

that a major dutch pension said it would start to sell their holdings.
and you think that would affect a company the size of shell . And you forget to mention ABP is selling all assets in ALL fossil fuel companies not just shell. So 15 billion euros in 80 companies of which only half a billion is in shell shares over the next couple of years .

Dunno how to please you remoaners. Firms move from the U.K. to Europe and you flag it up as a Brexit loss. Firms move from Europe to the UK and........you flag it up as a Brexit loss!

Depends on the nature of the firms and reason for the move. Obvious innit?

It has nothing to do with brexit other than its an opportune time for them to do it now with a buoyant share price and an activist investor nipping at their heels.
I think that's called something like 'running a business'.

Tell me, how much was the U.K. getting from Shell when they were based in the Netherlands?

The future potential of the business to maintain its operations is worth paying a bit more now in tax.
The alternative is less profit.

You should have raced cars the way you are swerving on this, after trying to chalk it up as a Brexit win you are trying at anything to attach some Brexit significance.

Your desperation is sad.

Are you saying it’s a Brexit loss then?

Whats actually moving ? Just the Address ?
As far as i can make out from other companies moving out of UK to a europe base, its just a very small number of people needed to setup the head office , the majority stay in the country.

It's more about tax and legal responsibilities, and regulation.

Shell had been aligning itself with the UK for some time. BG Group (the upstream part of the former British Gas), First Utility and more recently a large UK EV network. Its been Anglo dutch for many years. Pretty much another Unilever or Liberty Global/Virgin Media. HQ'd in the Netherlands for tax reasons. Well now it no longer suits them. its no surprise, given most multi-national HQ'd companies in the Netherlands do it for tax.

I think having a local office and basing your business HQ have different meanings. What large international companies don't have a London office?
