Supporting Ukraine

Also reports suggest that

Porn Hub have with drawn there site from Russia or blocked Russian users from using it

The cost in money and blood of saving Europe.

As you say, a country with 250% National Debt can still afford to build a National Health Service, decent homes, and modernise schools, public services and utilities.

So will China's debt prevent their growth and development?

That was just the sovereign debt John, what about the corporate debt?

Seems like some German orchestra has sacked there Russian conductor for not condemning Putin

it may have escaped the Germans notice

but I dare say he has family in Russia and may be wants to actually go back to his home land and not get imprisoned or duffed up

stupid people / stupid Germans ;)

as happened under Stalin the First.

The current leader is using the techniques that worked before.

However, nobody is obliged to believe it or sit back helplessly.
Russophobia was rife before WW2, the same attitudes towards Russians back then as today.
People wanted Russia smashed, so they turned a blind eye to Hitler until it was to late.
Ironically the only thing the Russophobes achieved was make their worst nightmare come true when Russia became a superpower controlling half of Europe.

Is it any wonder Putin is using stalins tactics.

economists have a theory about public and private debt, which I do not wish to discuss.

Oh, please do JohnD'ski. Please lay bare & expose your knowledge of economics to us. Please.

Hitler's tactics, not Stalin

Joe Stalin

used blocking units any Russian troops retreating from an attack on German forces were machined gunned

if they were not killed by the Germans they were killed by there own side

Tell us what tactics you think Stalin the First did not use.
Invading a neighbouring country on the pretext of protecting an ethnic segment of the population. Staged attrocities for PR. Also the phased invasion of first the Crimea and then the rest of Ukraine mirrors Chezhoslovakia.

Stalin wasn't nice, but Putin is playing from Hitler's playbook more.

You are a right doom-monger; you were the same with covid!

How do you interpret Putin's actions and words then?

I am sure all the people having their homes and towns blown to pieces don't see it as "doom-mongering"!

As for covid, it has killed almost 6 million people. That's not exactly doom-mongering either.
