What advice of your parents are you glad you ignored?

Wish I'd listened to myself more sometimes.
Wanted to start my sparking apprentice proper in 1983. I'd already started jobbing on sites and learning some of the trade. But was persuaded by me Ma that doing Food Technology and working in the food industry would be best for long-term job security: "Everyone has to eat!"
Got a job in a dairy and then started my apprenticeship proppa.
But I suppose there are good sides to that coin as well. She also persuaded me not to get a motorbike, which is what one of my primary classmates did and sadly killed himself.
Not while he was in primary, I hasten to add.....

Old Man always used to say if you don't have kids, you'lll regret when you're older. Well, I'm now older and no signs of regretting not having any bread-snatchers.
