Those who have driven the terror and fear of a deadly pandemic don't personally fear it. Every politician involved, every corrupt scientist, every corrupt doctor, every corrupt journalist and every corrupt big tech platform owner are complicit in this crime against humanity. Boris and co. owe the country several billions of pounds.

For that, yes, he broke his governments own law regarding Covid restrictions at the time, so paying a fine is commensurate with the crime.
But he should resign because he lied - not misled or misspoke - to Parliament.
The rule for such an offence is resignation.
To disregard this rule is to ignore the accord governing members behaviour, and ignoring this demeans the democratic order he is meant to uphold.
We know he lied to parliament, it's on camera, no ambiguity.
He has no credible defence, and for Tories waiting for a sign they can look no further than the elections in May where their party can expect a resounding opinion on his behaviour.

It is almost certain that previous sitting prime ministers have broken the law but then they were not charged with the crime(s) they committed.
Lol. I'm sure there are many similarities out there if you dig deep enough. However...

..Johnson will become the first sitting prime minister to receive a punishment for breaking the law...

:rolleyes:well apart from that he is a stand up bloke :)

...apart from that he is a stand up comedian; i think you meant to say.:D

It's a shame there'll be no PMQs today but i'm looking forward to his next performance - and more fines are sure to follow for each party at which he was present.
