What have you been doing today?

Watched youngest and two of his team mates play as part of Cheshire U17s vs Yorkshire U17s.

They played well, but Yorks made some tackles that weren't quite the examples featured in my rule book and the ref (who was the same age as the players) seemed to blow his whistle an awful lot in favour of the other side.

They ended the game 4 points behind.

Still got a sheet of 22 Milli P5 left over from bedroom refurbishment. It was £15 from Wickes. The same sheet today is £25.

Going to put it on eBay, along with some other stuff I am struggling to part with, like a 1986 Sanyo part tower system and speakers.

Just can't get it together and do it.

Mr Procrastination. Mrs Secure has this concept to deal with things you don't want to do.

She says imagine you have a frog on your desk and you can't get on with the rest of your day until you have eaten it.

Well, this stuff accumulating in the lounge is my frog.

Also my frog is the garage. It desperately needs tidying and sorting through, but I can't face it.

I get threats of D.I.V.O.R.C.E. before I go in there and begin to sort it.

The biggest problem is I am under pressure to get rid of stuff. Hate doing that.

I am firmly in the "if I get rid of that, I'll need it next week!" camp.....

I did sell off a load of stock left over from my S/E days on eBay a few years ago, and weighed in shoite-loads of cable, but have since bought the same items to do leccy jobs at home over the years since selling it, which only serves to reinforce my "hoarding" belief.

I'm a right mess!

Just got in from seeing Top Gun - Maverick. Brilliant film. Predictable but good entertainment.

How much was it, if you don’t mind me asking?
We went to the cinema to see it yesterday but it wasn’t starting until too late for us. It was 6.50€ (Tenerife) and we wondered how much the U.K. price was. It’s usually about double.

We saw it at the 'Everyman' cinema in Chelmsford. You get a Sofa for two and can be served drinks at snacks at your sofa. We paid £31 for two tickets, just over £10 for a G&T plus a Diet Coke, just over £12 for 5 tempura prawns and some humus and pitta bread and £13.50 for a glass of wine. Oh, and £3.50 to park. It wasn’t a cheap night out!

Bloody Nora, they didn't miss you.

Busy day today and it’s only 11.15am! Dog walk over Thorndon park. Had the pack elder with us today - partially blind, stone deaf and with memory loss. She can’t do the full walk these days so she gets a lift in a baby buggy. Saw some Canadian geese with only two goslings - they had four last week so two have gone missing. I have to put Susie on a lead when there’s youngsters on the lake as she likes a swim but I don’t want to distress the parents.

Came home, made breakfast and then cooked a couple of meals for the freezer - Spag bol and Chilli con carné. Just gotta make the lunch and clear up before Mrs Mottie gets home.

The, just for a change, I think I’ll pop over the allotment for a few hours and thunk of nothing but plants.

Mechanics. Not the Mottie kind, the A-Level kind! Am doing A level Maths for fun (AS level this year), and the first of the 2 exams after lockdown; and only the third in this style, was a bstaad. It made the news and everything! So I need a big win in paper 2 next week.

Can we ask why?

Math was always my weak spot, I can instantly envision it in my head but I cannot write it down or explain to a layman how I arrived at the conclusion.

I've lived my whole life dodging the many opportunities that a math qualification would have afforded me. I reckon I've done OK so far, but it's in my head 'what could have been'.

Dork, you must be from the States, as you said "envision" as well.

Most Brits say "envisage".

Except the increasing number of people on our TV and radio channels who are talking Yankese these days.
