Where couldn't you live?

Russians are all for cutting boys penises off at the moment.

Fact. Slightly different but the same people often can't or wont control their sprogs.
Had a breakfast out with Mrs S.

There was a large gathering of Mums and toddlers in the caff.

One toddler in particular was being left to run round. My hot food and drink was on a low table near him so I was watching out that he didn't knock anything over and burn himself.

Then a non-leashed dog came in and started eying up my sausages. I was trying to fend the bloody dog off and watch the kid.... The ironic thing was I heard the Mum saying what a lovely relaxing breakfast she was having....... Meanwhile the dog owner was oblivious.

If there is a next time, I will use my very loud voice to ask people to rein in their charges.

That problem has become worse over the years, especially so in pubs and restaurants. You go to enjoy a quiet meal and find there are kids running round completely out of control of the parents.

even more of a casse that dog owners need a fitness licence and parents mandatory classes in half sensible parenting/responsibilities

How did we cope in the last million years without these classes?

The fact is, some people have become so set in their own ways that they can no longer tolerate any behaviour from others that deviates from their "norm".

None of the pubs I drink in admit kids. If they did I would find somewhere else. Got to be one place adults can escape to.

Would you, your husband, your ex wife, your siblings and your children have to go to them or would you all be exempt?

They are the only ones I go into these days - I most often go in pubs for a meal out, rarely just a drink.

One of my locals is a small cider house where the landlady has run it for over 20 years. Very old school. She does a cracking Sunday roast - a real plate full for £9. Couple of Tributes or Thatchers Gold (warmer weather) to go with it makes for a perfect Sunday lunchtime/afternoon. Dogs yes - sprogs no. I always earn my roast by cycling over the downs to get there.

The Fox & Hound Hotel - Hotel, A171, Guisborough

Is a favourite of mine, when I'm in that area. A carvery plus, all home cooked, beautifully served, a proper belly full and dogs are allowed in the bar, though not the restaurant - you can be served in the bar.

Home cooked is very noticeable, compared to the usual reheated offerings. For a cheap home cooked meal, I nip in a place called The blue cup, at Castleford. Nothing fancy, just basic home cooking - a favourite of mine is their home made steak pie, chips & mash, carrots, peas, cabbage and gravy. Including tea or coffee £5.95. There Christmas Dinner is by contrast, best avoided - It was home made, but they didn't sell many, no doubt a result of it being a poor offering. They were keeping them chilled and reheating on demand - yuk.

Looks very good. Now you're making me hungry. ;)
