Money for Nothing

These people are poor and expect a democratic country like the UK to take heed of their plight
They pass through many democratic countries on their way to the UK. I wonder why they are so selective.

But the issue is, they are economic migrants. NOT asylum seekers. They are not escaping nothing, just want something for nothing from the UK. And the liberals need to understand that we will be paying for that now, and will be paying for it in a much boarder sense later.

There seems to be a lot of poor asylum seekers who can also afford to do that.
Aye, now there's the rub...some say they pay traffickers up to £10.000 for a one-way trip. Now; why not spend that money on a legitimate ticket and set-up some sort of business when they get here. Or find ways for the Foreign Office to deal with them at embassies abroad?
Is the Rwanda policy a way of dealing with immigrants and dissuading further migration?
Perhaps it is. In that case, why not find a better way of dealing with the French government in dealing with immigrants in the camps.
And why would sending them back deter others from trying. From their point of view it's worth making the effort as many do have no choice.

None of this does anything to help the people already here and striving to keep their heads above water, even as migrants still make the effort and fail to keep their heads above water.

A woman in Nigeria was recently given the equivalent of £600 from a philanthropical charity and you know what she's going to do with it?
Buy a couple of breeding pigs and start a business.
It doesn't sound like much in our advanced economy but a similar scheme here may bring about surprising results.

Maybe they're not being selective as European countries tend to 'encourage' them to keep moving. If the UK was still in the EU then making a deal would've been so much easier but hey ho...
Can you say an Afghan family is not escaping from the Taliban? An Iraqi from sectarian persecution?
You just tar these people with the same brush and try to forget about it.
Those pesky 'libertards' just won't let you, will they?

Sending these people to another African country seems unreasonable and uncaring.

It seems to be exactly the opposite to me - deterring them from risking their lives crossing the channel and looking after us and the invested time and money we have put into this country over the years, the people who have spent a lifetime working here and paying our taxes.

Fair enough: let me ask this. How much of your tax payments go towards public services and the NHS?
Would you rather the tax you pay go towards health care or national security?
Pickle me blind it gets complicated from there on...

limited money
Limited money! FFS Bozza is swimming in the stuff and is spaffing it any which way he pleases. Didn't you know, you old Tory joker? £37 billion (YES 37 big ones) wasted on one folly alone. Tory chums getting millions setting fire to unusable PPE.

It seems to me the issue here is how taxes are being used and i wonder how many of us have gladly handed over our taxes knowing they'll be used wisely in the National Interest? Nobody here has ever complained at the amount of tax taken out of our hard earned wages, have they? Oh no. Not us. We're all hard working citizens and to hell with these slackers on the streets and migrants coming over here and taking our hard earned money. For nothing.
The ideal for Brexiters appears to be a low tax-free market paradise with a small government and a large private economy, with Free Ports and Freedom to use their money the way they see fit. So now my question is: how will a low tax economy benefit the public sector, particularly the NHS, when tax revenues are lower and profits going to shareholders rather than the public purse?
