The British Government refused the funding for more French checks at Dover.
Part of the delay was that the French passport staff (who live in England) couldn't get through the traffic chaos caused by the needless passport stamps.
It amazes me that those who "got exactly what they wanted" now get grumpy because they don't like what they wanted.
those who say "Sod France I will go elsewhere" forget that the same rules apply from the Netherlands to Portugal. They have also obviously never met those nice friendly TSA people.

Where did you get that from? The French passport staff travelled over on the Eurostar that morning and were late because of a 'technical issue' with the Eurostar.
