There are a lot of ways of wiring up central heating systems systems, so they are not all done the same. For DIY, the easiest way to install Nest is to remove the existing programmer and replace it with the Nest Heatlink The wires are then a straight swap from the existing programmer terminals, over to the terminals at the Heatlink that have exactly the same function. If you provide details of your existing programmer, no doubt someone will be able to advise further.

Rewiring from the wiring centre is best left to the professionals to do it from there you would need to know what every wire does and what is connected to the other end of each one.

I do not have a programmer.

This is a new set up and I was told, all I had to do was install the nest and job done...

I am comfortable installing the nest to a combi boiler, but I have never fitted one to system boiler/unvented cylinder set up before..

Do you need any specific pics of my set-up?

I could be wrong, but you may need to have knowledge of G3/unvented systems before wiring up for hot water.

Which sound a bit odd to me, because the two cables entering the top right appear to be from the motorised valves and if so, the wires that would be normally be connected to the programmer or Nest, look to already be connected something.

However, I think @CBW is right, unvented systems do also have additional requirements that should be checked. As it's a new system the installer who will be an RGI is responsibe for completingthe installation and informing the local authority that the installation complies to the regulations and provide a Building Regulations Compliance Certificate.
