Meeting affordable housing quotas, as long as it doesn't reduce your profits

You and your mate are the worst in here for it by a country mile.
Stop moaning, report it. If the mods remove it so be it, I won't bring it up again.

Unless he is a sponger who can't be arsed to work, he will be contributing. NI and income tax, or any other tax are not hived of into separate pots, some of your road tax may end up with the NHS.

and he will for the pension too, all in the pot.
Private pension excepted of course.

That’s very nice, I really appreciate it.

How about not quoting people out of context though. That’s trolling for the stupid imho.

Some of the stuff around affordable housing literally makes me laugh. For example the often reported challenge of locals in small towns/villages not being able to afford a local property. Well, logic tells you, at some point these houses have been owned by a local person. They have then decided to sell or possibly passed away and the house has been sold thereafter e.g. by family of the deceased person. Regardless of who was selling, they've evidently decided to sell to the highest bidder. What they've not done is said to the estate agent 'I want the property sold to a local for a very affordable price.'

So, to those living in small towns/villages who were born there but can't afford to buy there, don't necessarily blame mr & mrs out-of-towners who've snapped the properties up either as holidays homes and/or to rent out. Trace it back to the first local who sold the property and, if they didn't sell at a bargain basement price to a local, blame them ;)

As usual, we're full of double standards around all this stuff.

p.s. I watched a tv prog a few months back about a small fishing village where the locals said there wasn't enough affordable housing. A developer wanted to purchase a field and build houses with a strategy of selling to locals and with a fair % well and truly in the affordable bracket. The application was refused ...

Why would you do that…..
Trying to help. You are unhappy about a post, so report it if you feel so strongly. If not, I don't know why you raised it in the first place.

No need to report it, just thought I’d mention it.
Thank you. Just for info, I don't hesitate to report rule breaking. It's what the button is for...
