Olga Carmona, who scored Spain's winner in the Women's World Cup final, is told after the game against England that her father has died.

Apparently he had died a few days earlier but her family decided not to tell her until after the match.

Yep. Back in the day when Newton Heath played on a rocky patch of waste ground before moving to the sulpherous park at Clayton. That's why they used it for the centenary kit. Those baggy shirts were so cool. Now it's 30 years ago and the retro shirts are retro. The past isn't what it used to be.

I haven't wore a Chelsea shirt since my travelling days in my late 20's. And will never again. But I do wear an old 1970 retro shirt for the Gym ️‍ it's tight and shows off my body . I loved the old football, not so much now.

I was happy to see the diversity in the English , team full of English players however I'd like to see more Men in the team.

I wonder how many people with ideological objections to trans gender people have weaponised sport in their crusade to marginalise trans gender people.
It's like racists might adopt animal cruelty as a weapon to complain about foreigners. Or islamophobics might adopt women's rights as a weapon in their islamophobia. Or hooligans to use football as an excuse for violence.
Their real issue, for such 'activists' is not the fairness in sports, nor the interest in animal welfare, nor the women's rights, nor the football. They're just banners on which to hang their prejudices. And any 'cause' will do to allow them to promote their own agenda.

I don't want to derail the main issue in this thread. So if anyone wants to continue this aspect of the discussion, can I respectfully ask that you make your comments in the other thread - Transexuality.

The president of the Spanish football federation, Luis Rubiales, has come in for criticism after he kissed forward Jenni Hermoso on the lips following Spain’s 1-0 victory over England in the World Cup final in Sydney on Sunday night.
Hermoso said on a live stream afterwards she “did not enjoy that”. In comments later provided to media she appeared to clarify her position, saying it was a “natural gesture of affection”.
