Afternoon,
I’ve been using my back boiler manually for a long time and would now like to add a Hive controller (dual channel) but many years ago the timer failed and engineer bypassed it completely. Here’s a picture of what I’ve got and what goes where but I’ve no idea where to start.

1 = from fused spur
2 = to pump switch (black wire in background goes from switch to pump)
3 = boiler.

Any help appreciated.
Thanks in advance
Jim

Need more info looks like you have a Gravity HW system, can you get CH without HW ?
Sorry, yes you are correct.
Boiler on = hot water only
Pump on = central heating.

I ‘think’ I know what I need to link everything up but everybody knows what happens to ‘thought’

its easy
L&N to L&N on Hive
Boiler live to 3 on Hive
Pump live to 4 on Hive
You will have to set the Hive to Gravity
If you have an existing thermostat it will need to be linked out or set to Max

PS, another question to clarify. I am connecting the N & E from boiler & pump to the connections on Hive as well?

Morning, I’m back again.
I think I’ve confused myself. I can feed hive with L & N from junction box.
Do I then bypass the junction box and wire from hive to pump and boiler separately?
Sorry if I’m not making sense.
Thanks
Jim

If that’s near the junction box, then take the cable/wires to the receiver, or if not long enough take a new cable/wires from receiver to junction box

Then all the wires you need will already be in the old timer
That was the problem. All connected to back plate but nothing connected at the other! See photo.
I think my biggest problem was I was over thinking /over complicating it all. I just did exactly what was advised and it’s all working
Just trying to connect it to the thermostat but it’s all good.

Thank you very much to the people who helped me
