The general discussion areas is generally not about DIY. It would be really nice if they had a politics section so that we didn't have to read all the political cr*p, but they don't, so we do.

If you are a genuine new poster, you will see there are sections to ask DIY stuff. We do get people in this forum with all sorts of personality disorders and they frequently get banned and create new IDs to resurrect themselves. You will forgive the caution.

What does this being my first post have to do with anything? If this forum is open to any discussion then I guess it's fine but I thought this was a DIY forum as it is advertised and I was looking for specific help. And from the looks of this you've been here most of the day which means you're trolling. I think perhaps spend more time doing DIY and giving advice on the subject rather than trying hard to win a geopolitical debate against everyone with an opposing viewpoint.

And their wives, children, parents, grandparents, neighbours, friends, those across the street that they've never spoken to, their doctor, their cousins from another occupied territory that they've never been allowed to visit, their childrens' school friends, their teacher, the owners of the local shop, etc. bombed out of their homes, their schools, their churches, theri mosques and probably killed or buried under the rubble?

They came about because, the Muslim Brotherhood, which they were part of, were designated a terrorist organisation by Egypt and Saudi Arabia, amongst others. They were not able to function and splinter groups popped up, Hamas being one.

Hamas want the destruction of all Jews, it is irrelevant when they were formed. Until that changes this will go on.

They came about because Gaza was an open prison, denied any opportunity to build any domestic industries, or of Palatinians allowed to travel, and because the Fatah party were seen as corrupt, not doing anything, and almost complicit with Israel in their racist policies.

Political parties do not form in a vacuum. They certainly don't get elected with an overwhelming majority in a vacuum.
