Downlights wiring - flex v t&e?

The downlights I've got in fit appear to have fairly crappy connectors - waeco style ones, so quick n easy, but having tried two bits of 1.5 t&e in each it's obvious the connectors would only properly grip one.

I want to loop in/loop out from downlights to downlight so am thinking to use flex instead of t&e... Is this acceptable?

Thanks!

Ok

Not possible to use those, as that style of connector must be within an enclosure, and those particular ones rely on a metal piece pressing against the plastic housing which is made of a soft thermoplastic.
100% unsuitable for any application.

Is there no enclosure around those connections?
