Well played Miss Raducanu

She's actually been talking about a ten year career and that she's looking forward to the next stage of her life. She's mentioned that she fancies doing something completely different like banking. I don't think she will become a former tennis player celebrity type.

She's just about holding on in the second set at 5-4, but the Kiwi is a touch cookie. She could be a Bond girl with a name like Lulu Sun.

What's with the never ending interview. after just the quarter finals ?????

They were probably expecting Emma! Although, having said that, I don't know whether they always do a big interview on the show courts?

First female Kiwi ever into the QFs I believe. Their Chinese-Croatian girl beat our Chinese-Romanian girl.

This young lady continues to be a mystery to me.

She went out in the first round of the US Open and was so down afterwards it was awful to watch the press conference. The main diagnosis was that she wasn't properly match sharp. She had chosen not to play for three weeks beforehand on the US tour, but instead went back to the UK to practice.

I have noticed before that if she plays too many tournaments in a row she seems to get mentally exhausted and then just capitulates like she did earlier this year in Bahrain and Madrid. She has said herself that she needs to manage her schedule and can't see herself playing every tournament. Despite her amazing skills, maybe she just isn't up to it mentally. She seems to want to just play the Slams and the other really big tournaments.

Has a modicum of talent, but not, yet, the graft to take it to the highest level.
She may never have it.

Fwiw, I think Nick Krygios' tantrums were a smokescreen, to mask the fact that he didn't have "the hard yards" in him,but didn't want to admit it.

She's keeping her toe in to ensure the £££ from endorsements etc keep flowing in, nothing more. Zero commitment now.

I believe she has more than a modicum of talent. She strikes the ball beautifully and her speed, movement and positioning are exceptional. I love this kneeling backhand winner she played at Wimbledon. They also say she often outfoxes most opponents tactically. But I think she has a serious disadvantage in that she has such a slender frame compared to the other players. I don't know how she actually manages to hit the ball as hard as she does, but she is never going to be able to blast opponents off the court. Very much a rapier rather than a bludgeon!

I think the proof is in the pudding. She can only excuse the performance so many times before the obvious question comes up. Is she actually that good?

No doubt she has talent.
Has she got the extra that makes a world beater ?

I'll never forget watching Federer vs A Rod, in their earlier days. A Rod had blasted everyone before him, with his powerful serve. Then he came up against Federer. He sent down a 100mph+ missile, which Federer nonchalantly hit straight back past him and just as fast.
A Rod just looked bewildered with a WTF expression on his face, as he watched the ball fly past him.

SHe won the US, which was amazing and hard to repeat. SHe has a few injuries..... she has very good brain. I expect she'll carry on while she's earning a decent amount then go for something more traditional for someone with her talents.
Look to the parents for the life-script

Andy Murray went through the pain barrier so many times he broke his body to win Wimbledon. The will-to-win isn't something you can teach - you either got it or you don't. I think Mz Emma don't.

She's injured again :( The way she throws herself around, I'm not surprised she often develops stiffness. Sometimes just watching her play is enough to make me suffer a little stiffness myself.
