Sds drill settings

Hi guys what setting should sds drill be on when making a hole in brickwork? Borrowed mates sds drill, sttings are as in picture..do I leave it on drill, hammer, or drill and hammer ? Ta

The top is drill and no hammer

Bottom is hammer and no turn

If the brick are soft try the drill only setting first

Thanks guys...its an end terrace around 1920s I think..solid walls no cavity....

All done..rather easy..mind you my bits for sds drill were new

After snapping the head on a SDS drill when hitting a metal bar in concrete lintel, I now use the 4 flute Makita Nemesis SDS drill bits. They are more expensive but well worth the money. I had to hang a curtain rail for a customer. I had already started drilling the hole, then when I hit the reinforcing bar the head snapped . The Makita four flute bits enabled me to finish the job. Additionally, they are great at self centering without the need to punch a dent first.

A number of other firms have the 4 flute bits. I mentioned the makita ones because I have used them.
