He claims that quoting the New Testament is abuse of Jewish people.

Can't see it myself.

Here are some examples I've used.

(Edit: examples removed. Search "KJV" if you want to see some.

a bit of reading for you.

of course I do not claim that quoting the new testimate is an abuse of Jewish people. I stated that advising a Jew to adhere to the teachings of the New Testament could be insulting. Further mocking them with quotes from the New Testament is clearly abuse.

Would JohnD suggest a devout Christian follow the Quran? I think he knows it would be insulting.

Nonsense.

The Ten Commandments are basically telling folk to be truthful and good to one another as are all religious teachings. No one book can possibly trademark the virtues of life and similarly - asking someone to be virtuous and good is the same in any religion i.e. don't murder people, don't commit adultery, don't steal etc, etc.

No one is going to be offended because it all translates the same.

So you'd be happy telling a devout Muslim to follow the teachings of say Pentecostal Christians? Its all the same right?

I'd be happy telling folk not to murder each other - yeah, why not. Help the poor and don't screw your neighbour, whilst you're at it.

Lol, they all come from the same god in any case.

Jesus was a Jew as were his followers who followed the same faith. The main basic difference with Christianity revolves around the Holy Trinity. In the Jewish view that is not possible so he could not be anything other than a prophet. If a messiah he would have ended all of their problems - run by Rome at the time for instance.

Teachings - good luck finding out. Some background

I thought your gripe was mixing the teachings of the Rabbi with the teachings of the Imam - i.e. Jews and Muslims?

I don't personally believe much of any of it. But I respect other's rights to believe what they like and I think it's wrong to abuse a person because of their religion or race. I certainly wouldn't advise someone I knew to be a muslim to follow the teachings of Christianity.

I've never seen it done.

I have, however, seen Netanyahu regaling Israelis with tales of past genocides celebrated in his scriptures, and encouraging them to repeat the process on Palestinians.

Which is worse.

You understand they don't agree with you?

I'd see no reason not to advise someone to behave charitably, not to commit murder, etc.

perhaps we should focus on one of your false claims at a time
A hypothetical invention of your own.
You don't think it's wrong? Well that explains a lot.
He claims that quoting the New Testament is abuse of Jewish people.
So that we are clear - you accept this is a lie.
