In the process of buying a house that need remdial wall ties, and has retrofit cavity wall insulation it it.
Reading now that isolating the old wall ties/drilling in new ones leaves a load of mortar/brick fragments etc..in the cavity which will case bridging and cold spots in the cavity wall insulation and likely cause some level of increase condensation/damp.
How valid are these fears? Is this going to be more trouble than its worth and should I back out of such a purchase?
