NO sorry disagree, myself and many others pay over 50p in the pound to fund freeloaders other countries everything but us, never have i paid so much tax we collectively and never before are our services so sh't ok that's fine but when i want to pay for my own private health care dont tax me on that too and call it a benefit in kind, when all my company is doing is paying for me to stay healthy because the NHS would have happily let me die. The whole system is fcked which is based on let us take all that money off you and manage your personal wellbeing in a pot collectively which in turn is so poorly mismanaged by a 'government' more interested in back scratching to stay in power and civil servants who mostly don't give a flying ****..
Let me have that money, look after the pennies and the pounds look after themselves is what has been instilled into me. That doesn't happen with a civil bunch who don't care about your money and especially the 'rich' ones. No i want to ensure my family and people around me are well looked after not anyone entering our hospitals from anywhere in the world, our country from anywhere in the world and any other fcker who sees us as an easy system to exploit in welfare etc. We've proved it already with the recent gang rape scandal, we are too afraid to confront matters that matter.

Too much credit leaving people servicing debt fuelling house price increases is a factor. Unnecessary wars (Irack cost several trillion), furlough, the banking crisis. All these mean huge tax rises. But as a comparator we still pay less than european countries, who have better health care and other public services than us.
You have a go at civil servants but what's the difference between a civil servant writing policies all day and a plumber overcharging for 3 or 4 hours work a day. Post covid people seem to want to work shorter hours across the board.
I don't think it is sensible to blame the relatively small number of illegal immigrants. There is a systemic problem across all of the West where people expect more from the state than the government takes in taxes, even with historically high tax rates. This is not just a UK problem. The only way to get elected now is to lie about tax and spend. Is the underlying cause that we have simply spent too much on the previous generation. I don't know. Something is badly wrong and I cannot see a way out. But I am not going to start turning on other groups.

If we've learned one thing from Trump's first 4 years as president, it's this: He only says these things to distract from problems at home. America really should focus on trying to make America a decent country, rather than a country with a wealthy minority and a huge population living in poverty. It's not great at all, certainly not the best country in the world. So long as they have their illogical fear of state funded support, it will always be so.

I'm not sure I agree. As I understand it the MAGA movement is fundamentally driven in large part by the working classes.
Part of the spat in MAGA was caused by Elon & Vivek wanting to keep the HNB1 visa system going vs the nationalist heart of the movement bitterly opposed.
