I think we can all make fairly accurate suggestions about Starmer's motives. Can't blame him for trying.
Apparently we have 5000 or so, one brigade . Oooph, that's one squaddie for every 200m of border.
We're objecting to upping the defence expenditure by half a dozen billion to get to about 4% GDP.
Covid cost us 300-400 billion.
Healey old fellow, pop along to those jolly useful chaps in Ukraine and ask them about drones.
"The Ukrainian Scalpel drone, for instance, costs $1,000 and can lock onto a target designated by its pilot. So does the AirUnit, a prototype drone whose final version aims to be less". Some kill tanks.
They also have a drone which can fly 1200 km, drop a big bomb and return to base.
"Ok Poots, we got 1 million drones ready", would sound good. 5000 pilots for them would probably do for a start, they aren't on the firing line.

Its an unfortunate soundbite for domestic consumption and has irritated the Germans. Trumpf might want out but its not so easy for Europe. Far rage has gone quiet while the two men he most admires are carving up ukrane. So much for sovereignty and respecting national borders.A peace keeping force

Not once have you admitted the Ukraine war is Putins fault
It’s a big sounding gesture but in reality it just means U.K. won’t send troops until peace has been negotiated and settled.
Its completely premature and assumes that any settlement/capitulation will be acceptable to Zelenski and the rest of Europe, which it wont.
