Let me clarify.

I don't doubt things are going on with the planet. What I do doubt is the level of urgency and some of the 'initiatives' we are essentially being slowly forced to adopt.

I saw one 'expert' on the telly box a few months back almost crying with anger saying 'if we don't dramatically change everything we do by 2030, that's it, we're doomed!!!'

Guess we are then, doomed that is. Ah well, it was good whilst it lasted ...

I believe totally in man made global warming.

But my faith in the alternatives keeps getting shaken. What about biomass from Canadian trees? Or new hydro dams which can give out more greenhouse gases than a natural gas power station if the wrong location is chosen?

Why is biomass counted as green energy when it gives out more CO2 than coal?

I don't think most people are aware that hydropower can produce massive amounts of greenhouse gases. I only found out relatively recently. This isn't a hoax. There are studies in proper scientific journals and on the website for one of the international bodies which promotes hydro power. The science is massively complicated, and depends on factors such as temperature, depth, the strata in the water and, what sort of soil and plant life has been flooded in the first place.
