This is knocking and water is leaking from somewhere you can't see what's causing it?

Nope - there are a couple of points of note that should be sorted out and it could be a lot tidier.

Is this in a rented property?

Hi I've just sent those pictures to a plumber thats qualified in unvented.
He replied
Ok mate well we have to drain it down in order to change.
Gave me a price

Said nothing about the way it was fitted.

Well that's Ok then.
It's all about standards.
If I piped up something like that, I'd never get any more work!
Guess my customers appreciate my standards.

Oh, and that I adhere to the regs... you know, safety and all that carry on.

Drain down to change what? What needs changed? They can't know from a pic if the EV needs re-charged or replaced. The unvented won't need drained down to change BTW - the pipework may, depending on it's routing, what's above it.

The Pressure Relief Valve and it's associated bits just isn't right and everything needs tidied up. Coming across messy pipework like that just smacks of sloppy work, sloppy work can be dodgy work. As suggested, I wouldn't expect any good recommendations if I left that dogs dinner behind either.

Hi, I've had it done now, the plumber sent me his qualifications.
But doesn't this look like the PRV is installed the wrong way?
The discharge is the shiny pipe.

The other thing that occurs to me is that there's no trap where the copper pipe goes into the plastic waste pipe, won't that cause smells?

Certainly looks like safety valve is wrong way round. Should have directional arrows on it or look up the installation instructions.

And, yes, unless that tundish has a spring valve, it is open to drain and will allow odours out.

Would it normally need a trap?
Any water in it would possibly dry up or go stagnant as it's not getting replaced regularly?

The other thing I notice is that one of the speedfit fittings looks loose, probably from when it was vibrating
