Moving manufacturing back to the states is good idea if you want to avoid tarrifs.
However the domestic market in the USA is finite, so once it has been saturated with all these Reshored manufactured products, where does it go from there.
Selling to the domestic market doesn't bring in the wealth needed to pay for the newly domestically produced cars, trainers, mobile phones ect.
To produce the wealth needed to pay for all these 'Made in America' products wont America need to increase its exports to countries which they have hit with massive tarrifs, these countries will probably respond with tarrifs of their own on American goods, so who is going to buy American exports.?

You are presuming trump has a grand plan. He hasn't, he makes it up on the hoof and then announces it on Truth Social.
R4 yesterday was interviewing someone about his idea to reopen Alcatraz. Seemingly his staff don't act immediately on any of his ideas now as they will probably change in the coming weeks.
And then denied he ever suggested such a folly, whilst blaming another idiot, when it turns out rubbish.
