I bought a house and it has doors as pictured below in my photos: I took one off and it felt very heavy and I was told by the surveyor and builder that they would recommend keeping them but doing something with them to make them look good. I'd previously imagined just buying new doors as I think maybe the design would be nicer - maybe the quality would be less though?
I'm wondering what needs to be done to fix them, I want new handles and to remove the boards and paint and then maybe they need treating?
What would you advise? I checked with some companies that do pain removal and sending and the price didn't seem much cheaper than buying a new door to be honest.
It they all have white boards nailed on and painted white underneath the one I looked at it was painted red.
So what do you think, try and get these restored or just buy new ones?
