But if nobody was seriously injured, he can't be charged with a crime of seriously injuring somebody. Because it hasn't happened. It all depends on the facts and we don't have those yet.
for god sakes. It isn't the fact of the seriousness of the injuries caused. He wasn't trying to avoid any injuries, it is either attempted murder or murder if nobody died, the latter will / should apply.

Yes, if they can prove he intended to kill, then it will be attempted murder.

Ok. There are people on this thread trying to claim it was an accident though, I'm not. Let's see what happens without deciding it beforehand.
When I first heard of it I did think maybe he passed out or had a heart attack but apparently he was following an ambulance through the crowds?

They had to lift 4 people out from under the car, two of which were children. I don't think there is much doubt on his intention.

Seems like it, but I don't think we know all the facts yet. The imminent charges should tell us more.

he got through a closed road by the police who let an ambulance through to aid a chap who was having a suspected heart attack. They failed to shut the road off again afterwards and this moron went through and was traveling against the crowd.

The driver of the car has been charged with attempted murder I believe.
Also there was the mention of drugs.

Whether they failed to shut the road off with cones and barriers is a factor but tbf if he wanted to do what he did, he would probably have just smashed through them regardless.

Motoring offences are slightly different. Here the results affect the crime. Dangerous driving vs Death by dangerous driving for example. The actions and intentions could be the same.

We don't know to what extent he has a self defence argument, however weak.

I don't think the attempted murder charge will stick, unless he's confessed something, Proving attempted murder is very difficult.

A different story is emerging..
