Ssssssshhhhhh, don't mention Reform.

Lets be clear on what you are arguing first:
A) Rescuing people in distress in French territorial waters and taking them back to French soil is non-innocent passage and the French have the right to prevent it.
B) A vessel not in French territorial waters may not enter French territorial waters to assist a Vessel in distress if it suspects they are illegals as this is not innocent passage

Article 18, 24 and 98, UNCLOS plus SOLAS reg 33. says they must accept them
Please provide the law or rule that states “must accept them”

I’ll wait.

But if you currently live in a tent with limited food and money, you wont believe that you could ever feel like that.
You're ignoring Maslow's hierarchy of needs.

You've considered level 1 so far. :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

Section 37(1) of NABA provides that a refugee is not to be taken to have come to the United Kingdom directly from a country where their life or freedom was threatened, if they stopped in another country outside the United Kingdom, unless they can show that they could not reasonably be expected to have sought protection under the Refugee Convention in that country.

If you refuse to process applications, can you guess what happens.? :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

That bears no relation to the question you asked originally to which I replied.
You replied by simply stating: 'Two different issues.'
I said they were connected, you suggested they're not. Explain why you think they're not connected.

The boats have little stability or reinforcing in the middle. Pressure on both ends simultaneously can easily cause the inflatable to 'fold up' on itself.
Therebye pitching the occupants into the water. I thought you were a seafarer? :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:
Nest time your 'sailing' in your local swimming pool, try it with a flimsy inflatable. :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

The people want to go North, so they'll happily sit quietly while they are forced to go in a different direction? :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:
They push port or starboard from the bow. - do you need a picture? They apply thrust in exactly the same way a bow thruster would.

Why then?

Many factors probably. Nobody really knows for sure. And the factors will be different for different groups. I read that many Albanians were brought over to work in the cannabis business. It is incredibly complex. Remember, only a tiny minority of asylum seekers try to get here. Some factors mentioned are having family here or knowing English. Others may think it is very easy to find work in the black economy. Some may believe they have a higher chance of being accepted for asylum.

"Law of the Sea" on the one hand, ECHR on the other.

Yes but the initial honeymoon period is what attracts them to begin with. Compared to say France and other countries that give them a tent it looks a much nicer proposition.
We're constantly being told that UK is more civilised than other places. Yet when we demonstrate a bit of civilisation, you moan. :ROFLMAO:
