How do you pronounce GPT in French phonetics?TomWW![]()
Except for the poor sods that are in the water drowning.these boats are 30-70ft they will be entirely visible and within ear shot when they are close to the border and they can be turned back without any issues.
doesnt say how they comply with that regulationThey have an obligation to comply due to a treaty that they signed
see aboveHow else can they perform their obligations.
that would be a pushback, already determined as illegalThey would be if they are prevented from entering UK waters
Anything more uptodate?
I'm frequently surprised by the eloquence of your responses. For Notch? Fùck. Right. Off.
I wasn't talking about berthing or handling in the harbour. I was referring to boats travelling at sea.I don't think you really understand that boats sit on top of the water and move with the tide at exactly the same speed as the tide. It's only an issue close to land or objects that are fixed to land. Fortunately, people build harbours, walls and marinas to avoid the issue of strong conditions impacting berthing/landing etc.
I didn't invent the ludicrous concept of pushback. This was your invention
You say it's not fair to describe all incidents at sea as unexpected?nonsense
Is that much shorter than 70ft?you do know that 12m is just under 40ft
Could you see his lips moving?so you was telling porkies

They are a commercial vessel by definition of having more than 12 passengers. They must file and notify. It is an immigration offence not to. Even I have to do it with 4 passengers.nothing mentioned about the lack of a passenger carrying certificate
they might just be a big family out having a day at the beach

Based on the definitions we have been using on this thread. This is a take back, not a push back.doesnt say how they comply with that regulation
hey would probably say to the British boat: "you arent in innocent passage so take em back to England, au revoir"
see above
that would be a pushback, already determined as illegal
The European Court of Human Rights ruled on Tuesday that Greece subjected migrants to "systematic pushback" practices in violation of human rights law.
The European Court of Human Rights (ECtHR) found "strong indications" of a systematic practice of "pushbacks" by Greek authorities, forcibly returning third-country nationals from Greece's Evros region to Turkey.
dont bother claiming Farridge would leave ECHR that would mean breaking GFA
They can claim it as soon as they land in UK.a boat load of illegal immigrants, they have no protection as refugees until they have claimed it.
Of course, they wouldn't be illegal immigrants otherwise.Plenty of illegal immigrants who do not claim asylum are prosecuted for immigration offences,
How many?plenty of people traffickers of illegal immigrants are jailed
How many, in comparison to the total asylum seeking refugees?and plenty who steer the boat, are jailed.
In your post you quoted SOLAS and SARS regulations in your claim that pushbacks are legal.nope
I've stated the same thing consistently.
UK has the power to refuse a boat load of illegal immigrants from entering UK waters.
UK or any other vessel has is required to rescue drowning people at sea, in French waters and France has no power to refuse to allow them to disembark in France.
Wow, you've got the negotiating tactics of President Chump, off to a tee.If we are paying France millions of pounds to stop illegal crossings, then France should have money deducted for every person that reaches the UK. £10k. The same as a lorry driver would pay per illegal that are found in their truck. I’m sure the French would be a bit hotter on stopping them than they currently are.
you claim Reforms small boat policy is "workable"Based on the definitions we have been using on this thread. This is a take back, not a push back.
Any vessel carrying more than 12 passengers is a commercial vessel and must comply with commercial regulations. All vessels must file before departure and report prior to crossing at the 12 mile limit. Which in dover/caliais is still in French waters.
It will therefore be obvious that a boat looking like this heading for UK waters, that is not transmitting AIS, has not filed paperwork and has not called in at the 12 mile limit. is.... not an engaged in innocent passage.
