accident on cherry picker, is it user error

When I have had them delivered to me they do drive them off like he was trying to do, but that truck does look narrow for the size of the cherry picker...maybe not?

I don't think you can drive a cherry picker from the ground controls like you can with a scissor lift.

It's difficult to see what happens, perhaps the front right hand wheel (from where we're looking) snags on the trucks somehow.

Us professional cherry picker drivers accept the risks and dice with death daily on them. It takes a special kind of person not to go insane with fear. We risk our lives so you don't have to. Good luck to that brave soul and hope he is ok.

Aren't you suppose to be harnessed? If the guy was operating the machine from the basket, he may be in trouble, but the owners will probably get hit if they didn't have a risk assessment and/or hadn't properly trained him (assuming he wasn't an owner/operator)

Some companies dont bother with harnesses, depends on their risk assesment.

It more than likely would have catapulted him straight into the gound like one of those dog ball throwers. Plus his testicals would have caused serious injury. Only use a harness in the air so you dont fall to the ground from height

Also you dont wear a harness when working over water in case of drowning.

yes on rough ground you need one. To be fair it is always good to have one each time you step into one, however the reality of that doesnt happen.
