Fuel Price Shoots Up, what a surprise.

Yes, this recent oil price hike isn't all bad news...

...my domestic EV tariff hasn't changed... ;)
My neighbour got conned into leasing one of those milk floats.
He says that it costs him as much in electricity as when he had his petrol car.
Problem now is that he can't go too far without planning very expensive or very long pit stops.
Unleaded around my neck of the woods is 130.9 at Sainsbury's & Tesco (opposite each other) but another 6p up at the ESSO station. The distance between both is about a mile so anyone paying 6p extra must be feeling flush.
Or they care about their engine...

Shouldda listen to myself and Avocet then (y)

For those with home charging, cheaper than cheap.

For those relying on the public network (especially if going for rapid an ultra), almost double the cost per mile, I think.

Not quite "double", I think? 23p / mile for me, if exclusively using 80p / kWh chargers, compared to about 13p / mile in my last diesel (at today's prices). However, that's comparing a sub-6 second to 60 EV with almost three-and-a-half hundred horsepower, with a 130 horsepower 1.5 diesel. If we were get closer to a like-for-like comparison, I think the EV charged exclusively from ultra-rapid public chargers would be about 30% more?

Doesn't he have electricity at home?

I could see how someone who managed to get themselves an EV without first stopping to think whether they could charge at home or not, might struggle with working out where to go to charge it...

Or they care about their engine...

I'd best not tell you what the person who chairs the SMMT's "fuels group" puts in their car then... ;)

Call it a fiver for 300 miles if I charge at home, at night.
Ergo, a tenner for 600 miles.

That used to cost c. £70 for my 2 litre diesel.

Charging while out and about, at 80p per kWh - which I've never done - would cost around £50 for a full charge, there or thereabouts?
So, a ton for 600-ish miles?

If I'm right (above) then you're right, and I was wrong :ROFLMAO:

Did you find a translator?

Well, for a bit there, it seemed like you were offering, but I'm starting to think you might now just be trying to pointlessly string this out in an attempt to save yourself some embarrassment... ;)

Again you've totally misunderstood.
Get someone who speaks English and your language to translate.
Sorry, I can't make it clearer than this.

Thought so... You're not going to even attempt to explain how your neighbour managed to buy a car that he couldn't charge at home - or why he's absolutely getting his butt kicked on his domestic electricity tariff... We'll have to start calling you "half-a-story Johnny", I think...;)
