You do need to beware of flag shaggers though. Their gammon hue and pent up anger can be dangerous when Forrige trumpets the call to arms.
We were in France a short while ago. It seemed that most towns and villages we passed through were flying the French flag
You sound like an extremest that prevent needs to have a closer look at. So full of hate and resentment to others who do not share your view. Some might call that a bigot.

I don't like to see a lot of flags flying whether in folks back gardens, streets, town centres or wherever. However I'm only referring to the esthetics of seeing a ton of flags. Not for me, except for when holding a national celebration.
On the topic, I think it speaks to a wider thing. I think the general public has had enough of the perception, whether real or otherwise, that it's good to promote certain stuff, including the woke agenda, migrants, LGBTQ etc, however when trying to promote so called traditional values and tradition over this, it's almost as if we're being told to shut up and deal with it.
The tide is turning.
On the topic, I think it speaks to a wider thing.
