Ridge/hip tile repairs advice

Thanks.

So I have quite a wide range of opinions on this now, ranging from a repointing job to getting the whole thing done properly. From getting a scaffold and doing it myself to getting a firm in, or to finding a one man band type guy with a ladder who'll do it for £100.

Not sure what Im supposed to do with that.

Its hard enough finding good tradespeople, but it will be easier to find a big firm to do the full job that it will be to find a reliable smaller outfit to do a few repairs - on the latter Im exposed to the checkatrade type people who might not do a great job.
But what they all have in common is something needs to be done. From the ones you have used that is.
What is the felt like underneath, would that benefit from a re do. How about the chimney flashing, it could all add up to striping and completely re doing with new felt, lath and while they are at it - a dry ridge.
Buttering them up is a waste of time. -- smearing new mortar over the old.

Felt is bitumen. Its generally ok but I have found a small number (4) of ripped sections which Ive patched from the inside with a bitumen primer and Gorilla waterproof tape (the tape wouldn't stick very well without the primer).

The internal timbers (rafters, purlins, wall plates) are all good, no signs of rot or water ingress.

Externally the tiles all seem to be intact and in place, suggesting no failed battens.

I got an independant quote for scaffold down one side and rear of the property - £750 for 6 weeks hire.

Roof sounds like mine - just about to patch some rips with stixall and brick wall DPM. It was a few years ago now in a bad storm 8 ridge tiles blew off - doing damage on the way down, instead of just those put back I took it as a sign to do the rest, I was shocked how easily most of them lifted off by hand - others with a little tap with the wooden end of the hammer.
Actually most of the little rips in the bitumen felt were from the roofers size 9s when they slide a tile up to expose the lath to stand on

Question on dry system - a quoting company has recommended mortar this morning because I have sand faced tiles which are rougher, and they think the dry system adhesive won't stick very well to these tiles. Any thoughts on this please?

A neighbour had the tiles off and re felted and new batten's and although they used the same old tiles they have had new ridge tiles with the dry system.
