Asylum hotels

I honestly don't know what the current status is. Are they currently accepting returns from us.
I don't know.
Is your whole rejection of sending them back hanging on the fact that a party that isn't in power, has said they would make it a part of their manifesto to send them back, or that they are willing to leave the convention on torture if that is what it takes?
Germany seem to manage to send them back whilst still being signed up.
Why can't we?

Because Germany has already assessed that they are not at risk of being tortured.

We could do the same.

But Reform are planning to send everybody back. Including those who face torture.

Is that clear enough yet for you to understand the difference.

So we have already negotiated a deal with the Taliban to accept them back?
You are jumping about a bit here, I was responding to your post which didn't mention approval from the Taliban.

Of course we need permission first, without that we can't return any Afghans at all.

You probably haven't tried to have a discussion with Lirefighter before.

I know!

He also likes to use analogies. Often about cars. Usually Fords or VWs.

This is the bit I don't understand. We spent almost twenty years fighting the Taliban, in order to stop them torturing and executing people. And now Reform want to pay them to torture and execute the people we send back.
did you forget the time when they were allies of the west against the Russians?

they conveniently avoid saying how

Germany seem to manage to send them back
It has done 2 deportations, 2021 and 2025

It took a colossal legal, political and diplomatic juggling act before Berlin could deport Afghan criminals.

So it’s taken years to set up and very few numbers.
