20 Million on Benefits

Person ranting about benefits claimants doesn't understand the numbers shocker.

The expensive ones are the pensioners. They such down a huge proportion of benefits.
Don't blame pensioners. I am a pensioner and I am also a tax payer. I have had 2 days, 2 effing days out of work since leaving school!

Blame those who have never done a days work in their life, work shy scroungers and illegal immigrants are the problem. Along with tax evaders, cash in hand and politicians.

You're also in the group of people who cost the country the most, by a huge mile. You're getting a level of care and support you didn't provide for your parents and grandparents.

But most importantly, it's not about you as an individual.

Asylum seekers are are a rounding error compared to pensioners. Benefit fraud is a drop in the ocean compared to corporate tax evasion.

It's really tiring having people obsess over the tiny line items while ignoring the big ones.

Like me - The once hard-working pensioners, put money into the system, and helped build the country, in the hopes of a comfortable retirement.

Exactly! The scroungers, and illegals, would not have been tolerated, when today's pensioners were working. Everyone worked, everyone found a job, or they really struggled in life. No food banks, back in those days, none were needed - everyone worked.

During a global boom economy everyone had jobs!

In the UK, we have an economy, which is desperately short of workers. We import workers from around the world, to do the jobs which no one in the UK is willing to do. Instead, many UK born people, simply get away with sitting on their backsides, living on benefits, whilst the few go out to work, earn, and see their taxes frittered away on paying benefits to the perfectly able-bodied.

'many' lol.

I would say that’s housing benefit

Councils flogged 1.5million homes in 1980s

Imagine the assets they would own now if they had kept them, or reinvested.

Thatcher's child Angela Rayner bought hers in 2007. She doesn't miss a trick. So much for socialist principles!

As always - the hypocrisy of the left in all it's glory.

Many of those council owned homes, were simply a massive financial liability on the councils. They gave long term tenants of the council, with pride in their home, a chance to buy them, and relieve the councils of responsibility of expensive, on going, and inefficient maintenance. The councils could then better concentrate their finances where needed.

Had the above not happened, it would be a reasonable assumption that the UK's housing stock would be in even worse condition than it presently is. Private owners, take much better care of their investment, than tenants ever do, and usually at much less cost.

WRONG

Thatcher forced councils to sell, then forced them to hand over the money and stopped them building more.

That’s the problem

You moan about people on benefits…..whilst voting Tory and Reform: are millionaire scroungers making policies for their own benefit

You’ve been conned

Bowlux. They're all 'down with Thatch!' - yet taking advantage of her policies that they would or should be idealogically opposed to.

Just like that good socialist Tony Blair - the multi millionnaire property magnate and warmonger.

Or Diane Abacus sending her sprog to private school.

And you spout about others being conned by The Tories. :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

Yes, I can see the advantages, as well as the disadvantages, of the scheme. Just surprised about militant left-wingers so keen to take Maggie up on her offer.

A lot of these working class reform supporters are in for a big shock if Farage gets into no 10.

His associates believe in 'cutting waste' although they haven't defined what they mean by waste.
