Greetings!

So where a building has typically been demolished by a demolition company. How do you reconnect the electric back?

Can an electrician do it on site, or dose the electric board need to do it externally?

Thanks

You find out who the network operator is by looking here: https://www.energynetworks.org/customers/find-my-network-operator
contact that operator and request a quote for a new supply appropriate to the building(s) that you are intending to construct on the site.
Once all that has been paid for, installation arranged and carried out in conjunction with the construction process, you then contact an energy supplier of your choice to provide a meter and payment account so you can pay for the electricity used.

There is no 'reconnection' and there are no 'electric boards' any more either, such things went away 35 years ago.

In answer to the OP you may need

The DNO and
The supply company and
A competent spark

Can you still get a temporary site supply installed in suitable cabinet?

This is not what I found last time i did simular. you had to put your address in to find out your supplier.
The supplier is who you buy electricity from. There are many to choose from. This is NOT the network operator.

Im NW so it stats Northern powergird. Should I contact then with my address to get a quote?
If the property is located in their area, then yes.
You don't get a choice as to who the network operator is, it's entirely based on the location of the property.

What do you think they will quote me for?

Sorry I did not see your post before i posted before

What is a DNO?
Dose the spark need to be qualified?

DNO is the local power company who are responsible for the cable to the property - they will not add the meter

And yes you would have to prepare an enclosure (cabinet) big enough to enclose the mains service head and fuse, the meter and what ever fuseboard the competent spark doing the work fits. Be aware that you will almost certainly be asked for a certificate for the fuseboard
