That Gay shop story reminds me of when I was young.
To say someone was gay meant that were happy, jolly etc . That’s all it meant.
What’s wrong with that?
If someone is offended by something that someone else is doing it is usually because they want to be offended and interferes in someone else’s business and it’s simply nothing to do with them.
Whatever someone’s practices are is usually their own business and nothing to do with anyone else (unless it affects them of course).
People’s sexual/religious/political etc etc preferences have no affect on me they are none of my business despite the fact that I am “anti- religion” .
Much as I think it is so wrong so daft in so many ways I don’t mind if someone is religious, that’s up to them.
What I do mind is when some of them start attempting to interfere with your peace like knocking on your door to preach to you, or stopping you in the street or suggesting to you that “ you should be a good Christian” implying that if you are not a Christian then you are not good. That I do not like.
Actually I could argue that I am religious, my religion has nothing to do with a god or a messiah but to do right to your fellow man, I would rather help someone than hurt someone, that is my religion.
If someone wants to put a flag up it, in itself, is usually no concern of mine, if someone is proud to be British/English/ Welsh/ Scots/ Russian/ European then so long as they are expressing support for some good things and not bad things (like slavery for example) then no problem.
If someone wants to be Irish or Chinese then I have no problem with that.
