Mandatory ID cards (Brit Card) to be announced tomorrow

So you think they all go in detention until their claim for asylum is decided? Idiot.
Actually mottie they are all detained, just you cannot seem to grasp what detention is... for the absent of doubt its the same standard as any criminal detention.
1. In a secure facility or prison as its known- mostly for Syrians, Sudanese, Afghan and Palestinians at the moment although that changes, remand as its known
2. In a managed accommodation, mostly tagged aka a bail hostel
3.Tagged in non managed accommodation eg a Hotel
3.Permit to reside or bail as its known, specific location with reporting requirement eg the same as being on bail and reporting to a police station.
4. At their normal address and place of work - temporary right to stay in the case of visa overstays with no restrictions unless they break a law ... which by the way make up 33% of all asylum claims or unconditional bail as its known.

Or in short exactly the same as any other criminal awaiting trial who are detained..

I am always confused by you mottie, you claim to be British but have little or no understanding of the country you supposedly live in...

Of course, they all abide by those rules too, don’t they?

Yet you appear not to know the meaning of common English words. Being 'detained' means being held against your will. This does not include hotels, hostels or reporting requirements. In this respect, it means government facilities or prisons. Mid-2024, there were 1800 illegal immigrants detained, 94 in prisons. Almost all of these were due to criminal activities. From an estimated 3/4 million.

Yes, because prisons are expensive and if they asylum seekers isn't a threat they shouldn't be in prison.

750,000 small boats asylum seekers?

What exactly do they check when someone gets aboard the RNLI taxi? What happens to those with no papers/passport/ID? They can only ask them their details and with no papers, we have to accept what they say.
And that blows the argument that Digital ID will prevent illegal immigration right out of the water!

The standard instruction, before they get on the boats, is to dispose of anything which might identify them - obviously, with ID, they would never get into the UK, they would be undesirables.

As destroying an ID document is a criminal offence, why aren't they prosecuted?
