So 1 has been killed by the police shooting him? or was he also stabbed by the terrorist?

I thought these police officers were supposed to be trained marksmen? Trained to hit what they shoot at?
For 2 people to get shot also does not sound like they were very good yet I'm not seeing anything about that in the news, it seems to be being played down?

Yes they are frangible bullets, not great to kill someone with cleanly.

The bloke could have had a bomb, the Police did the right thing in the circumstances.
According to the footage the attacker tried to get up, so he had to be neutralised.
There is a split second between success and failure in these situations.

depends on the velocity of the bullet.
A bullet can ricochet, if it shatters, then bits of bullets will be flying everywhere, putting the shooter in danger as well.
A bit like shrapnel.
