The Saltire is the flag of Scotland.
The flag of Ireland on the Union flag is the cross of St Patrick.
The Saltire of Saint Andrew is the white and blue bit.
St Patricks cross is the red diagonal stripes.

Ireland is a bit confusing because there’s the Tricolour flag, the Cross border flag, the Ulster banner, the cross of St Patrick and the Union flag.

You can hardly expect them to recognise what is support for a terrorist organisation, and what is an intelligent discussion about them.

One sees a lot of these people now, especially in town and city centres. Sitting, standing, smoking, talking on mobiles, doing nothing in particular, all day long. In Piccadilly Gardens the other week I started to count them and stopped at 100. And there was me, tired and on my way home from work...HAVING PAID FOR ALL THE FOKKERS.

I'm not bothered. I've got my 5 passports, and several thousand quid in multiple foreign currencies lined up by the back door.
I've still got to replace the garage door from when I drove the car straight out without opening the door, when I thought the knock on the front door was the rozzers.

I hope they don't dress up like the milkman, because he comes every morning.

It is, now - but the situation was very straightforward, and not confusing, when the Union Flag was invented.

You claimed I'd altered a quote. But all I did was to remove the irrelevant bit, and replaced it with an ellipsis.
It's a perfectly recognised English grammar process.

Omitting words from a quote:
An ellipsis is placed where words are removed from a direct quotation to shorten it or make it more concise.

Whichever Mod dealt with it deleted my post, without checking if it really was a correct English grammatical use of an ellipsis.

So you have a habit of reporting that which you think, subjectively, is wrong when there's nothing wrong with it.

He will NEVER understand living in his 1M house in a little white village described as quintessentially English, with a village green, local church and a village cricket team.
